A big day for our young heroine!
Meet Allie Campion. Her story begins today. And you can follow along!
It’s Monday, May 18. Yes, in real life… and also in the very first lines of Some Guy Wants to Buy the Fourth of July.
On this Monday in the middle of the merry month of May, our young heroine, Allison “Allie” Campion, age ten, receives the thrilling news she’s been hoping for.
She’s been chosen as one of twenty finalists in the Friendly Family Freedom Franks annual Fourth of July essay contest — which means that she and her dad Dan will get to spend a whole week in Washington, D.C., seeing the sights and helping to plan for the big Independence Day bash on the National Mall!
Plus, if she’s named the top essayist, she’ll win a $25,000 scholarship and get to read her winning piece on national TV! She can’t wait for her dad to come home so she can tell him the big news.
But when he does arrive home… he has some shocking news of his own.
And in other news — Some Guy now comes all dressed up in a fresh, fun, and patriotic cover, to commemorate the 250th anniversary of America’s Declaration of Independence! Join us and celebrate the reason for the Fourth of July season!
